Understanding the submittal process.

2012-07-18 Posted By: Birgitta Reynolds

Bill Graham, Treanor Architects Construction Contract Administrator, Dick Tilghman, Project Manager at Treanor Student Life, and Chris Warden, our BIM Support specialist, lead Treanor's first in-house AIA credited course: "Understanding the submittal process and how the process relates to Construction Documentation". During this course the attendees learned to:

  • identify components of a submittal and their correlation with contract drawings and specifications
  • recognize key submittal elements and how substitutions may be accepted or rejected
  • identify non-architectural submittals to be forwarded to consultants for review, and coordinated with other disciplines
  • compare submittal information with design intent, using Contract Drawings and Specifications.

Treanor Architects is an AIA CES registered course provider and continues to develop credited courses for in-house continuing education opportunities.
