New Rowing Boathouse

The new University of Kansas Rowing Boathouse, located in city-owned Burcham Park, has been sited to have a positive impact on the environment, to make the park safer and to preserve open space. Nestled into a grove of cottonwood trees, the design maximizes river views and capitalizes on natural light to provide daylight in the team room throughout the day.

The boathouse features storage space for boat shells, oars and rigging equipment, and provides a team room, offices and locker rooms.

Treanor undertook this project in association with Peterson Architects, Cambridge, Massachusetts.
